The Burracombe books are set in a fictional Devon village in the 1950s. Do you have any memories of these years, or are they 'history' to you? Do you like the characters and enjoy reading about them?
Do you enjoy coming across characters from the April Grove stories in these books?

An Heir for Burracombe is out in paperback and on Kindle tomorrow (3rd Feb). Have you read it in hardback or have you waited until now?
Don't be shy!

I have only recently discovered the Burracombe books and absolutely love them (being born in 1947 some of it is familiar.) Because of a visual problem, I have access only to those on audio. I have just listened to the one where Stella is injured towards the end and her marriage to Felix seems at risk. Could you please tell me the next book in the series so I can discover what happens? (But not in this open forum as that may spoil things for other readers, I may already have committed the 'spoiler' sin by saying this much!)

I suppose, like all readers, I feel these people are like friends and look forward to hearing their lives unfold. Thank you so much Lillian, you're an inspiration for a fellow writer and I'm learning so much from your wonderful books. I am a published author but so far only in non-fiction and may not even submit this one for publication. For me, the joy is in the writing.

If possible it is more interesting to read 'The BurracombeBooks' in order of print otherwise it may confuse you - I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them and will feel very sad when I come to the last in the series - but having said that I have Just read that Ms Harry has just released another Burracombe Book - panic over !! Ms Harry's books are better than any sleeping tablets - I just love them!

I have just finished your new book Wedding's in Burracombe, is this the last in the series, or will you be writing more. I do hope so, the characters have all become so familiar to me, I have read and re-read most of them.

I love the Burracombe books, but I have to say that I think Ms Harry is wrong in 'Snowfall in Burracombe' when she states that married women were not allowed in the profession(1953) When I was at Primary school in the 1940s our head mistress was married and another teacher married and stayed on. 1949 at Secondary school the Biology mistress was married and later the French teacher married and stayed on.

Sorry, should have said the profession was teaching.
